"architecture"

hi my quilty friends,
seems like my distaste for blogging does not coincide with desire to increase my designing quilts.  so I've entered several contests recently.  i'm trying to push outside my box this year.
this post is about the Curated Quilts prompt for a mini quilt.  there is a very specific color palate and a visual prompt of photographs to pick from.
here's their link, if you read this soon, you still have time to enter.

here's the photo i picked from their Pinterest page.
again i chose, as i often do now, to use a tutorial to make a label.  i learned it from Sarah.
you can find her awesomeness on Instagram. she goes by Coopcrafts. here's her link:  https://www.instagram.com/coopcrafts/

i've been trying to be very organic in my quilting and my label making lately. i was a typist for years and HATED having to fix my mistakes manually. boy, computers have changed so much... here's my "organic" label.... note the missed strikes?

if you follow me on Instagram you know i adore paper piecing.  i attempted my own paper pieced pattern on what i "saw" in the photo prompt.  this is before i received my amazing gift of EQ7. paper and pencil for the win.  but..... it's reversed.  (insert laughter)  hopefully i'll learn.  i actually had the whole thing pieced before i realized it.  i took a photo of it in a mirror to make it seem like it was almost exactly the like the photo, but talked myself out of THAT deception.  i'll ask you to use your mirror.
i had fun, i thought outside my box, and i created .  win, win, win.
i called this mini "architecture"
