the movie bridemaids...... i have several things to tell you about this AMAZING FUNNY CRAZY REAL LIFE MOVIE!!!!........first, i had a NSV.... my car had to go into the shop.... i brought it to sears which is on the opposite end of our large 1 mile long mall... when i was told i had 3 hours to kill i had this insane idea, walk to the movie theatre at the OTHER END OF THE MALL and go see a movie.... i did take a rest halfway, (and today i can barely move, this is because of those stinking knees, but I DID IT), but more importantly, the NSV?...... i have NEVER gone to the movies alone before... but i did it yesterday.. now if you know me you know i've NOT been morbidly obese all my life, just my adult life, post children)... so, physical health achieved with WLS, my emotional and mental health achieved (slowly, albeit occuring) with therapy.... yes therapy...... no anxiety as i stood in line looking at all the COUPLES and groups going to the movie, no anxiety as i walked into theatre to find a seat... though it being pitch black helps, lol. so, i walk a mile (knowing, heaven forbid, i'll have to walk BACK afterwards), sit down <quite comfortably, with lots of room left over in the chair>, pull out my protein bar, and watch the funniest, sadest, craziest, silliest, dirtiest, REAL movie i've seen in a long, long time.....
.....now the movie..... so, if you haven't had your head stuck in the sand, we all know that there has been some contention within our community....and i would have to say there are MEAN GIRLS all over within our community.... some LOOK perfectly safe and beautiful on the outside, but peel back a layer, two, or maybe three, and we might see a wounded, hurt, obese girl there, who THINKS she's helping, who THINKS she's making the community of WLS people stronger.... please WLS peeps, go see BRIDESMAIDS, you'll find US in all of them.... i love OUR community, i NEED OUR community.... i will not allow MEAN GIRLS to hurt others in our community.... i want to carry the message of love, peace, and happiness, i want to be switzerland, and i'll continue to do my best, but i DO HAVE certain relationships i hold a bit more dear in my heart (these people helped me more than others, or were there during a particularly hard time in my journey, or maybe they were there BEFORE i made the big WLS decision)...with that said, you know who YOU are, i love you, support you, and will continue to send my good thoughts towards you....
.....oh yeah, the movie.... the acting was amazing, there is SOMETHING for EVERYONE in it... bring another WLS peep with you, heck, your mom, sister, adult daughter, aunt, cousins, oh, even your husband will like it.... it's slap~stick humor, it's CRASS, it's FILTHY, it's FUNNY, it'll make you cry, it'll make you laugh.... the character MEGAN( melissa mccarthy) was my favorite... absolutely hands down, no question favorite... i was sitting next to this very young, beautiful teenager in the movie, she probably couldn't figure out why i was sobbing like a baby during one scene in the movie.... if you see the movie, YOU'LL KNOW WHEN!!!!<"i'm life, and i'm going to bite you in the @ss">....i'm on the tightest budget ever, i went to a matinee and it was the best $7.75 i've spent in a very, very, very long time......(helps that i could bring my protein bar and didn't need all those other god forbidden sugar snacks i used to eat...)
