Ferritin, IBC, and hemoglobin....

......continuing the rant of yesterday... i further my knowledge of blood donation post gastric bypass.  sharing with you that i'm trying to be my own advocate in regards to following and knowing my lab values.   the following of our labs is UTIMATELY our job.  why do i say this?  because after that wonderful surgeon reroutes our gut (and i'm forever grateful of this), we are basically thrown out into the medical community.  and most general practitioners and internists aren't experienced with gastric bypass patients.  invest in the "lab tracker" sold by andrea...  http://wlsvitagarten.com/products-page/books/lab-tracker-workbook/?random=1304638226    ....she has a new version that will be coming out (not sure when) that will be the NEW & IMPROVED model....  that will be on my list, especially if i find out my ferritin is in the toilet.

above is part one, my daughter's cupcakes called me away and there is a part two:

love love love baking for my daughter..... and the smell is enough to cause a binge, if i was going to "fall off the wagon" of abstinence...    thank goodness i had to turn in 24 cupcakes for the banquet, because i only baked 24 and i'd be mighty embarrassed explaining a missing cupcake..... <guilt all over face>

know your labs, trust your program, and to good eating and proper supplements and vitamins!!! xxoo~nicole
