support and therapy

     tonite is SUPPORT GROUP!   WAHOOT!  my bariatric program has a monthly support group meeting.    i adore it....   may sound strange but if you realized that i'm all about THERAPY, you'd understand my NEED of this special group.   i love the people who run it, i love the people who attend it.  i love that it's run by professionals.  now, they have no more special skills than i do.  but it's the combo of the nurse & nutritionist in our program and they bring education, support, plastic surgeons, taste tests, and a multitude of speakers.   it's also fun to meet up with people who are on the same journey.   funny thing is, i'm the vet.... almost at 2 years post op.... eeeek!  where did the time go?  this group allows me to reach out to people further along than i am so that i can be "forewarned".  and it allows me to sit comfortabally (and i do sit comfortable now, in a "normie's chair, NSV!) among people who had surgery at the same time, and most importantly it allows me to sit with people who haven't yet had surgery....

     the sad thing is, i've been told the program, the WHOLE bariatric program is at risk.... of closing... good lord, what will i do?  guess i'll be having my own support group.... save that 4th thursday of the month folks, we MUST get together and continue supporting each other... it's KEY to success! of this i know to be true....   xxoo~nicole
