lady of leisure....mmmmmm. |
i’m glad they thought that gastric bypass was a viable, plausible way for me to lose weight. yeah, some think it’s the “easy way out”, whatever, those of us who elected to have this surgery ~ we know different. and each day i have to decide whether i am going to follow the bariatric rules of protein first, low carb, lots of water, exercise (which i can‘t wait to REALLY do, post knee surgery), and vitamins and supplements. as i planned a new recipe tonite for my daughter and i ~ i know I AM UNSTOPPABLE! just like the movie. i’ll jump over the cars of trains, manually put on the brakes, keep in communication with the professionals, just to stay alive and save myself, and ultimately others too (if i’m around i can save lives, oooh let me count the ways.) back to the OTHER thing i did today.... here’s what i did to change up meatloaf to make it WLS friendly….hope you try and enjoy! xxoo~nicole
TURKEYLOAF w/P28 bread
preheat oven to 350 degrees
you’ll need 1 loaf pan sprayed with non~stick spray
1.5 lbs of ground turkey
3/4 cup milk ( i use HOOD calorie countdown)
1 large onion chopped small
1 egg
1 cup toasted P28 bread (i used the heals, this stuff ROCKS, 1 slice nets 14grams of PROTEIN)
mix the above in a bowl, use your hands, it’s more FUN! place into loaf pan.
now here’s the REAL DEVIATION… you know that great sweet glaze on meatloaf that we all LOVED as kids? that was brown sugar folks, which i avoid. so…..
mix in a bowl (not with your hands here, silly goose)
¼ cup ketchup
2 tablespoons mustard
2 tablespoons nature’s hollow imitation honey
1 tablespoon joseph’s maple syrup (this stuff is THE BOMB) i buy mine from amazon.
spread on top of your uncooked meatloaf.
bake one hour, ENJOY!
season they way you want, i choose to let “others” decide what they want….
